Alexander Damianisch is responsible for Support Kunst und Forschung, covering the area of project development in art and research. Central services for the University of Applied Arts include: Conception, development and management of the Support Kunst und Forschung unit to enable complementary projects at the Angewandte; Conception, development and management of the Zentrum Fokus Forschung until 2024 (centre for the support and dissemination of projects in art and science incl. doctoral projects in artistic and scientific research).

As a moderator, expert and reviewer at institutions (Germany), funding agencies (Switzerland), as well as in professional magazines and journals, Alexander Damianisch contributes critically and consultatively to aspects of art, science and research work, questions of organizational critique and institutional development as a peer, a source of ideas, a commentator and an interlocutor. Next to his general outreach activities (moderation and presentations on topics in art and science) and regular teaching at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, he teaches at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in the Artistic Research Doctoral Program of the Artistic Research Center.
