ARTist – Graduate Association of the University of Applied Arts Vienna

Development of joint projects and support for graduates of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The central priority is to foster the relationship of the Angewandte to their graduates, the mutual exchange of opinions and ideas, the cultivation of contacts between graduates, the promotion of art and science of the Angewandte and their graduates as well as the documentation of the artistic and scientific development of the graduates.

 

Two fields of activity: ARTist CONNECT and ARTist SUPPORT (“You connect, we support”).

ARTist CONNECT

Networking between graduates and members of the university (students, faculty, etc.). ARTist brings graduates together with relevant contexts for artistic and scientific development.

ARTist SUPPORT

Support for graduates in financial and immaterial terms (consulting services, continuing education, publication support, etc.).

Key responsibilities

Newsletter

Upon graduation, graduates are automatically subscribed to the ARTist newsletter. Information on current funding opportunities, open calls and relevant events is sent once or twice a month (subscription can be cancelled at any time). Should you not receive the newsletter, please write an email to: artist@uni-ak.ac.at

University Library

All graduates can use the University Library free of charge on request.

base Applications

All graduates continue to have access to Angewandte base and its applications for digital support, currently including Portfolio, Showroom, and Image+. If you need alumni access, please get in touch with the Office of Student and Academic Affairs.

Publication funding

Funding of publication projects with a maximum amount of € 1.500. Upon positive evaluation, a freelance work contract will be issued, and payment will be made upon submission of 5 publication copies. The Angewandte and ARTist logos must be added to the publication upon funding approval. You can only be granted a publication grant once. Submissions by email to artist@uni-ak.ac.at. The university supports faculty, students and alumni on an operational and advisory level in starting their own businesses and on their path to professional independence. Vienna Business Agency

Support for local and international companies at all stages of business development and advice on entrepreneurial issues related to establishing a business in Vienna. Further information.

aws funding

Provision of low-interest loans, guarantees, grants, equity capital, advice, and support on intellectual property issues. Supplemented by specific information, consulting, service and support for prospective, existing and expanding companies. Further information.

SMART.AT

Under the common umbrella of the cooperative, artists, creatives and cultural workers either work independently within the framework of SMartProduction or are hired by SMart. Both stand-alone projects, as well as complete projects can be handled with several contributors. Further information.

Austrian Start-ups

Umbrella organization of Austrian entrepreneurs. Networking in the form of roundtables, summits and other formats. Newsletters, podcasts, website, etc. More information.

ECN Network

Interdisciplinary network of Austrian universities and Fachhochschulen (Higher education institutions granting BA and MA degrees). Networking and overview of initiatives, events and programs at Austrian universities that support start-ups and creators. Further information.

Continuing Education

The Department of Staff Development and Equality offers a wide range of internal continuing education programs available to all employees of the University of Applied Arts free of charge. Subjects covered vary from work skills and computer courses to careers in the arts and sciences. Further information and programme overview (available in German).
