Data Protection Information for “PORT” projects at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte) – for contact persons and project partners
Within the framework of applying for and awarding “PORT” funding at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte), your personal data will be processed for the purposes of checking the preparation and fulfilment of the funding agreement, eligibility requirements, and for the evaluation and awarding of funding. This applies to personal data transmitted either by you or the submitting contact person, and generally concerns the following categories of personal data: first name, surname, academic degrees, ORCID iD (if applicable), contact details (address, email address, telephone number), short biography, documents and attachments for submission (e.g. CV, list of publications, portfolio, etc.), amount of funding, project description and duration, institute or department for project affiliation, and address of your research facility (institute, department)/company or organisation.
The data processing is carried out on the basis of public interest in accordance with Article 6 (1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Sections 1-3 Universities Act (UG), for the fulfilment of the funding agreement or the implementation of pre-contractual measures pursuant to Article 6 (1)(b) GDPR, within the framework of legal obligations of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte) in accordance with Article 6 (1)(c) GDPR or, insofar as the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte) is not acting in performance of its obligations under public law, for the protection of the legitimate interests of the controller in accordance with Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR. You are legally or contractually required to provide your personal data under the applicable PORT funding conditions in order to ensure that we are able to assess your eligibility for funding and can award the corresponding funds. Non-disclosure of this information will prevent us from being able to fulfil the objectives mentioned above.
Within the context of awarding PORT funding, we may also process image, audio and video data (e.g., artistic works) that you provide to us.
This data processing is carried out on the basis of the guiding principles and tasks of the university in the public interest in accordance with Article 6 (1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Section 2 (8, 13, 14) Universities Act (UG). Your personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose.
Your data will be processed internally by the staff of the respective department organising the awarding of funds and will only be passed on internally or to third parties (e.g. for review within or outside the university) if this is necessary for the purpose of complying with the funding conditions or for the completion of the agreement, on the basis of public interest in accordance with Article 6 (1)(e) GDPR in conjunction with Sections 1-3 Universities Act (UG), within the framework of legal obligations of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte) in accordance with Article 6 (1)(c) GDPR or, insofar as the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte) is not acting in performance of its obligations under public law, for the protection of the legitimate interests of the controller in accordance with Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR, or if you have given your prior consent. Depending on the type of funding, a list of funding recipients may be published in the official bulletin or on the websites of the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Angewandte).
Data pertaining to payments is stored for seven years; any and all other processed data is stored for the duration of awarding funds or for the duration of the contractual relationship and, beyond that, for the duration of any existing legal claims or, on the basis of legal obligations, for an estimated period of ten years, or for research and verification purposes for an estimated period of 80 years (insofar as it concerns study-related data). Data that is considered archival material in accordance with the Federal Archives Act will be stored indefinitely.
